Interview with Mr. Laurent Rabine, main contractor and manager at Bat’Immo Concept, Batiscript user
Bat’immo Concept is a company specializing in construction management in the field of reinforced concrete.
To begin, could you present your position and the missions that fall to you?
My job as manager and main contractor for Bat’immo Concept is to ensure that the work is carried out in accordance with the plans, materials and regulatory implementations. In particular, I supervise the work: management of works, quality control, etc.
What motivated your search for a new professional solution?
I started looking for a new solution because I wanted to save time in my operational daily. At the same time I wanted to make easier to follow-up on construction site but also to get rid of the paper and having to handle all the documents of my site.
How did you discover Script&Go and its construction management software?
In 2012, I came across a press article about Script&Go and its BatiScript construction management software. The article talked about Lamotte Group and Giboire Group who were users of this solution and were very satisfied with it. So I got in touch with the Script&Go sales team and started my trial period.
The result was very positive and erased our doubts about the use of a tablet in our processes.
You have chosen to deploy the BatiScript software in your company to answer what needs precisely?
We were looking for a way to optimize working time: whether it was during the survey of reservations or in the drafting of reports. We lacked a simple tool to explain to our site partners the various defects noted.
I use the “Punch list Management (OPR)” modules on a daily basis to identify defects on my site.
With the help of the “Plans management” module, I can easily find all the plans of my site in an organized way.
What inspires you in BatiScript compared to other solutions on the market?
I have not made any comparison with other software because I was quickly convinced by BatiScript construction management software.
The simplicity and performance of the solution were decisive for my choice.
Exchange and proximity to the customer are the main strengths of BatiScript: as soon as we have a request, we send it to the technical department which answers us quickly by telephone. This personalized customer contact is very important to us.
How has the use of the BatiScript software and tablet changed how you work?
Using a mobile tool such as BatiScript for monitoring my construction site is a major advantage for my competitors: I save time and have simplified communication with my partners.
For example, I often use the photo tool and annotations to explain very easily the various defects that I find on my site. These photos then appear in my various reports that I address directly to each company.
What are the main advantages that BatiScript brings you?
“From now on, we go to the site with our hands in our pockets.” With BatiScript, there is no need for paper: everything is in the software.
We also gained 30% of our time for the punch list management on the construction site, which is not negligible when we know that “time is money”.
The “Delivery / Guarantees” module is very important for me: it allows me to track the defects detected by the customer during the entire warranty period, after delivery.
With a tool as practical as BatiScript, my site monitoring is now faster.
In summary, BatiScript is saving me time and simplifies communication.
